Import of fertilizers to Ukraine significantly exceeds exports

According to the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, ammonia exports from Ukraine in January-May 2018 was 29,700 tons in the amount of $6.9 million, and imports was 178,600 tons in the amount of $57.2 million. Turkey was a major buyer. The value of the goods shipped to this country amounted $4.5 million. Almost all goods were imported from Russia.

Nitrogen fertilizers exports was $45.3 million in the quantity of 233,200 tons, and imports was $155.4 million in the quantity of 733,000 tons. As in the case of ammonia, Turkey was the leading buyer. The value of shipped goods was $19 million. The main supplier remains Russia, where the goods in the amount of $33.4 million were purchased.

About 15,000 tons for $2.8 million of phosphatic fertilizers were imported. About 91% were delivered from Poland.

Just 686 tons of potassium fertilizers for $167,000 was exported from Ukraine. Import amounted to 15,800 tons in the amount of $4.5 million. The main buyer was Lithuania, the seller – Belarus, which supplied fertilizers in the amount of $2.3 million.

Fertilizers containing two or three elements (NPK) were exported in the amount of $2.4 million in the quantity of 2,700 tons. Import was 824,200 tons in the amount of $284.8 million. Moldova was a main buyer. Russia shipped fertilizers to Ukraine for $136 million.
