Ukraine imported more than 1 million tons of nitrogen fertilizers

According to the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, imports of fertilizers for five months of this year significantly exceed exports.

Ammonia volume exported from Ukraine in January-May 2019 amounted to 1,508 tons for $443,000, and imported 165,900 tons for $48.4 million. Earlier Turkey was traditionally the main buyer, but this year Slovakia is the leader. Almost all ammonia was imported from Russia.

Nitrogen fertilizers were exported for the amount of $25.2 million in the quantity of 119,400 tons, and imported in the amount of $259.9 million in the quantity of 1.062 million tons. As before, Turkey is the leading buyer. The main supplier of past years – Russia has not supplied the goods. Bulgaria took the first place. Poland and Turkey are at the second and third places.

Nearly 26,000 tons of phosphate fertilizers were imported for $5.2 million. About 92% was supplied from Poland.

Just 1,078 tons of potash fertilizers for $281,000 were exported from Ukraine. Imports amounted to 28,800 tons for $8.5 million. The main buyer is Lithuania; the seller is Belarus.

Fertilizers with two, three elements (NPK) were exported in the amount of $3.4 million in the quantity of 3,200 tons, imported in the amount of $350.9 million in the quantity of 839,400 tons. Kazakhstan was the leading importer. Russia remains the largest supplier.
