According to the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, ammonia exports from Ukraine in January-August 2018 was 40,000 tons in the amount of $9.4 million, and imports was 257,200 tons in the amount of $76.4 million. Turkey remains a major buyer. The value of the goods shipped to this country amounted $4.5 million. Almost all goods were imported from Russia.
Nitrogen fertilizers exports was $62.6 million in the quantity of 326,400 tons. This means that there was not nitrogen fertilizers export from Ukraine in August. Imports was $191.3 million in the quantity of 921,400 tons. As in the case of ammonia, Turkey was the leading buyer. The value of shipped goods was $24.2 million. But the situation with suppliers has changed. If the main supplier was always Russia, then it became Belarus in August this year, which share in the supply of nitrogen fertilizers to Ukraine increased to 18.27%. This country delivered the goods for the amount of $35 million. IA “Infoindustry” forecasted this scenario, given the various restrictions on the import of fertilizers from the Russian Federation, which supplied nitrogen fertilizers for $33.4 million. If the restrictions will be in force, in the near future Russia will be overtaken by Uzbekistan, which shipped goods for the amount of $32.6 million.
About 87,100 tons for $21.3 million of phosphatic fertilizers were imported. About 42% were delivered from Poland. Tunisian share is 36%.
Just 1081 tons of potassium fertilizers for $276,000 was exported from Ukraine. Import amounted to 78,000 tons in the amount of $20.3 million. The main buyer was Lithuania, the seller – Belarus, which supplied fertilizers in the amount of $15.9 million.
Fertilizers containing two or three elements (NPK) were exported in the amount of $2.8 million in the quantity of 3,400 tons. Import was 1.051 million tons in the amount of $437.1 million. Moldova was a main buyer. Russia shipped fertilizers to Ukraine for $196.5 million.
